Properties
The microporosity of the internal structure of the pearl film (decreased density) ensures its highest packaging efficiency, as compared with other offered types of polypropylene films with the like thickness. The pearly appearance, opalescence and a high degree of non-transparency guarantee its attractiveness as packaging material. By standard, it is offered as pearly-white film, one-side activated, with the activation at the outer side of the roll. The use of outer weldable layers enables its welding below the polypropylene melting point. The selection of welding temperatures depends on the characteristics of welding electrodes and welding rate.
Application
The oriented polypropylene pearly film is intended to be used directly as a component of multilayer films, with possible surprint or metallization of its surface. The unfavourable estimation of the surprint adherence, made with the use of a self-adhesive tape, on the surface of pearly film, is not a criterion which disqualifies it from further use (packaging etc), because of its microporous structure.
